Strong Women Age Well with Vicky Blake! Charlotte recently joined an introductory class on what to expect

Charlotte recently joined instructor Vicky Blake for an introductory class on what to expect at Strong Women Age Well! 

“Gently building stronger bodies for better days; injury prevention, better balance, stronger core and moving more!”

The first thing you get from Vicky is her sincerity.  From the moment you walk in for her class, she’s smiling, and welcoming and instantly gives you a good feeling that you are in good hands and in for an enjoyable class. She emanates her passion for what she does and that can be experienced in her classes. Vicky supports and motivates you throughout, with praise and encouragement.

Vicky speaks clearly and gives instructions to the movement so well. If you couldn’t see her, you know where to put your eyes, hands, legs, etc because of how clearly she explains it. She doesn’t rush an instruction; she smoothly, calmly talks you through your movement in a way that you can keep up. I found that I didn’t have to keep looking at her as is sometimes the feeling with classes, I just listened to her voice and I knew what should be where.

Vicky is going to be running another Strong Women Age Well course, this time in Bridgwater in Taunton, every Tuesday from 30th August for six weeks. The aim of the course is to build stronger bodies for better days, preventing injury when doing even the simplest of movements. At some point or another, we’ve got out the car and it felt funny in the hips, or we’ve picked baby up and something tweaked in the back, or we walk on something slightly uneven, and our balance is off. Vicky’s classes will support all this, slowly building strength and support in your whole body to set you up well with everyday activities, for life. As is everything on In It Together, this class is for 16+, any age, any ability. Vicky will modify and adapt the movement for you. If you’re looking for a gentle set, Vicky will ensure that but then if you fancied the extra challenge, Vicky will provide that too.

This 50-minute class will cover mobility (so getting you to move freer than you did when you arrived, by moving you from one position to another), bodyweight strength, core (this is your tummy, back, glutes, pelvic floor), some balance work and then a stretch to finish.

Vicky has warmth, friendliness, empathy and energy in bucketloads! I don’t bend and flex in the best ways, but she got me through it and I felt good just by knowing she’s at the helm, encouraging me to work through the movements! You really are in such fantastic hands with her.
